This jug was made in Staffordshire, sometime between 1860 and 1880. It's a classic style of Staffordshire pottery and would have been made on a production line at that time. The Staffordshire Potteries became a centre of ceramic production in the 17th century and hundreds of companies were established to produce domestic and industrial ceramic objects.
