These two cigarette cases were gifts between a pilot and Amy Johnson, the famous aviatrix who was born in Hull, UK. They belonged to the contributor's grandfather. He gave one of these cases to Amy Johnson and the other she gave to him. He had been a pilot in World War One, and after that, was a chief engineer at Stag Lane Aerodrome, NW London, where he taught Amy about mechanics. They became great friends and he flew with her on an expedition to Japan. This story has been played out by a theatre group on Bradford in recent years.
