A pomander contains substances to keep moths away and wardrobes fragrant - lavender is often used. Moorcroft was founded by William Moorcroft in 1912. it was originally supported by Libertys, the London store, and they controlled it until 1962. Moorcrofts is still in business and a dedicated sale of Moorcroft pottery is held annually at Sothebys.
