The temple pediment is one of the most famous discoveries from Roman Britain; it is filled with emblems and was full of meaning to all who saw it. The most notable feature is that of the Gorgon's head, an image associated with Minerva and her Greek counterpart Athena. The pediment is significant to Bath as the temple is one of only two classical style temples in Britain, showing a merging of Roman and local beliefs.
