My family moved to Highbridge after the Bath Blitz. A neighbour made the object out of wood packaging from the American Fuel Dump nearbye, for my mother to keep shoe cleaning things in. In 1999 the many layers of paint were stripped from it to reveal it's origin.
In March 1944 German planes again dropped incendiary bombs on us, possibly aiming for the Camp. My younger sister was born that night as a bomb came through the roof.
The cupboard in now in my downstairs toilet, filled with spare toilet rolls, soap and cleaning materials. It has had many other uses including a medecine chest.
It is a part of my family's history.
