The dummy ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Guard Rifle was issued to units of the new force to practice with until they could be issued with real armaments. It is the same weight and size as a real .303 Lee Enfield rifle, that the British infantry were issued with. By the time the real ones arrived, the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Guard would be used to marching and standing guard with the dummies and make an easy transition. This rifle was used by the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Guard in Denbigh.
