When travelling in Africa in 1989 we spent a day marooned in a sandstorm in the Sahel near Agadez in Niger. A group of ragged Fulani children appeared and we gave them clothes. Later they returned with a gift of these prehistoric stone implements. We were amazed and grateful so selected a few to keep. Afterwards we discovered that the children had thrown the rest away near our vehicle; obviously of no value to them. We have treasured them ever since but have never had them identified or dated.
