This book dates from 1790 - 1820 and was written by Nicholas Culpeper. It contains hand drawn illustrations of herbs and plants used for medicine.
Culpeper was a botanist, a physicist and an astrologer. He catalogued hundreds of herbs and plants. He attempted to make knowledge more accessible to the layperson, and criticised the mystique and high prices of the contemporary physicians.
