On Wednesday 4th December, at Media City in Salford, we invite you to be part of a transformative day dedicated to 鈥淩eclaiming the Narrative鈥� in news and sports journalism.
Hosted by 成人快手 News Senior North America Correspondent Gary O鈥橠onoghue, this year's festival will spotlight how we can make media more inclusive and representative for everyone.
Whether you're a journalist or someone eager to be more disability-aware, we鈥檒l discuss the barriers disabled people face and explore solutions to address them.

The 成人快手鈥檚 Chief Operating Officer and Ability executive sponsor Leigh Tavaziva will deliver the festival keynote address underlining the 成人快手鈥檚 commitment to disability representation and explain why it鈥檚 vital for all audiences to see themselves represented on screen and through the stories we tell.
Leaning in to Lived Experiences
Gary talks to 成人快手 senior news leaders about the need for real Deaf/Disabled and Neurodivergent representation and understanding across the newsroom, and why having lived experience ingrained into editorial decision-making benefits all news audiences.

The dust has settled after an incredibly inclusive summer of sport, but what now? How can we ensure that lessons learned become business as usual for sports journalism?

How to Bring Down the Barriers
An interactive workshop designed to get people thinking about the barriers which currently exist in many newsrooms for disabled journalists and how the social model of disability can be used to remove them. Learn about the social model and how incorporating it into all aspects of newsroom culture can be beneficial for everyone.
