Roles and responsibilities
- Adam sets the editorial direction for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ NI – ensuring alignment with divisional and Group strategy.
- He oversees commissioning and the development of services in Northern Ireland, so the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ can meet the diverse needs of the local community and reach audiences across the UK with great content.
- Adam also leads on stakeholder engagement and is accountable for the delivery of all ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Northern Ireland’s services within agreed annual budgets.
Biography
Born and brought up in Belfast, Adam graduated from Oxford University before joining the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ in 1995 as the Regional Trainee for Northern Ireland. He has spent the majority of his career in journalism. He started out in front of camera reporting on Northern Ireland’s fluctuating transition from communal violence to political compromise, before moving behind the camera to lead production teams.
Adam’s journalism has encompassed spells as a reporter for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Newsround, Ireland reporter for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Five Live, and Head of News in the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ’s Belfast newsroom. During his almost thirty years at the corporation he has won many major awards as well as covering some of the biggest stories of recent times, such as the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centre.
Adam has been at the forefront of driving the shift to high impact digital content, while protecting the highly regarded and popular portfolio of programmes produced for local audiences in Northern Ireland.
Adam is a Wavelength leadership alumni, fellow of the Westminster Abbey Institute, and Forward Institute fellow.

Expenses are costs incurred by ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ staff on behalf of the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ and claimed through the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ's expenses system.
Central bookings are costs incurred on behalf of the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ and booked through the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ's central bookings system. Both expenses and central bookings are published every three months.

Declaration of personal interests
Staff must make a declaration of their personal and business interests, including any memberships or directorships of public or industry bodies, and any shareholdings, as well as any interests that their immediate families may also have.
A summary is published where there is something to declare and where there is nothing to declare. Occasionally an individual will have something to declare but due to the personal nature of the declaration we do not publish details as to do so would breach the General Data Protection Regulation.
